Description

[WPSndPal]
The WPSoundPalette is installed into your System Setup Folder.

The Sound Scheme Palette window displays all of your Sound Schemes currently available on your system. You can press and hold the Alt key and drag a Sound Scheme and drop it on the Desktop. This will make the dragged scheme the current Sound Scheme.

Select Edit Sound Scheme so you can add, delete, and edit Sound Schemes. You can also double-click on the Sound Scheme Palette window to display the Edit Sound Scheme window.

[WPSndPal - Edit]

This dialog box enables you create, edit and delete sound schemes.

Scheme Name

You can set or change the name of a sound scheme.

Sound Event

Each sound scheme has 13 events associated with it. These system sound events are:

 Warning
 Information
 Error
 Open Window
 Close Window
 Drag
 Drop
 System Startup
 System Shutdown
 Shred
 Lockup
 Alarm Clock
 Printer Error

Each sound event may, or may not have a sound file associated with that particular event. It is acceptable for an event not have a sound file associated with it. In this case, just leave the Sound Event Filename field blank.

The Find button brings up the standard OS/2 File Open dialog box. You may use it to easily locate your sound files.

The Delete button deletes the sound scheme that you are currently editing. You will be prompted for a confirmation before the sound scheme is deleted.

The play button plays the current sound file. You may use this to quickly browse sound files.

The apply button makes the sound scheme that you are editing the current system default one. It is the same as performing an Alt-Drag operation to the desktop.

Note: MMPM/2 will cache and lock any file that has already been played as a system sound event. This will prevent an immediate change in the sounds that the systems plays. The correct details have been saved in MMPM.INI and will be correctly played after the next system boot.

[WPSndPal - Export]

The Export button exports the sound scheme, the scheme name and the embedded files all into one single file. The file format of this file is the same as used in the shareware SOUND16.ZIP application (even though it could be greatly improved).

[WPSndPal - Import]

The Import button allows you to import a previously Exported sound Scheme file into your system. Before you import the file, you are given the ability to change the sound scheme name via this dialog box:
